The single was released on 26 On October 1946, it reached # 5 on the country & western charts, the Floyd Tillman version, reached # 2.

The song was included in Ernest Tubb’s studio album, Ernest Tubb And His Texas Troubadours (Vocalion 1960), the album was recorded between 1954 and 1958, in Bradley Film & Recording Studio, Nashville, Tennessee, and released in June 1960.
